As a weaver of transparencies I seek to evoke an ethereal presence in my woven art. Just as these transparent weavings leave shadows on the wall, their imagery portrays the faint whisper of ancient traditions. Vertical warp ikat suggests a heartbeat, while faint horizontal weft ikat feels like a memory only half remembered. Centered on each piece is a cultural emblem from a past time whose meaning has faded along with the cultures that once valued them. Standing before these weavings you can feel their living presence. Look through and behind them to see their shadowy remains.
