Island Shimmer
26"W x 43"H Transparent weaving hand-dyed linen, silk and rayon inlay, wood support Inspired by the presence of the sea that is so close to where I live, I embarked on a journey to explore physical density in various wave forms. This piece reveals that, by experimenting with textile structure and the interaction of threads, I can discover aspects of transparency and woven density that I can’t anticipate any other way. It's impossible to foresee where such a journey will lead me. This one revealed imaginary islands floating in a shimmering sea.
